Urgent Nearby helps customers find local service businesses that can take urgent or same-day work.
Who can use Urgent Nearby?
Urgent Nearby is available to eligible service businesses such as plumbers, electricians, locksmiths, mechanics and other businesses that provide time-sensitive services.
Your business must be approved by Funafuna before it can appear in Urgent Nearby.
Turning I can take urgent or same-day calls on does not automatically make your business appear in Urgent Nearby. Funafuna must approve the capability first.
What happens after approval?
When:
- you have Urgent turned on
- Funafuna has approved your business
- your business is active
- you meet the required contact requirements
your business can appear to customers using Urgent Nearby.
Results may also depend on the customer's location.
Steps
Sign in to your Vendor Dashboard
Open the Funafuna Vendor Dashboard for your service business. Urgent Nearby is a capability for eligible trades such as plumbers, electricians, locksmiths, and mechanics.
Open Business / Service settings
Go to Business (My Business). For Services vendors, the Urgent setting lives with your other service settings rather than as a separate page.
Find Urgent & same-day work
Look for the Urgent & same-day work section.
Turn on urgent or same-day calls
Check I can take urgent or same-day calls. Turning this on asks Funafuna to review your business. It does not automatically make you appear in Urgent Nearby.
Wait for Funafuna approval
Funafuna reviews participation so Urgent stays limited to appropriate service businesses. You will see Requested — waiting for Funafuna approval until your business is approved.
FAQs
- What if I'm too busy to take urgent work?
Turn off "I can take urgent or same-day calls." Your business immediately stops appearing in Urgent Nearby. Funafuna approval can stay in place, so you can turn Urgent back on when you are ready.
- Do I need to contact Funafuna every time I pause?
No. Once approved, you can pause and resume from your Vendor Dashboard. Funafuna still controls whether your business is approved for the Urgent capability.
- Does Urgent guarantee that I'll receive calls?
No. Urgent makes your business eligible to appear to customers looking for urgent or same-day services. Visibility can depend on location, service relevance, availability, and other Funafuna discovery factors.
- Why does Funafuna approve Urgent businesses?
Urgent searches represent customers who may need immediate help. Funafuna reviews participation so the experience is limited to appropriate service businesses rather than allowing any vendor to label themselves as urgent.
